It is a must read for anyone interested in forming local sustainable communities. So long as state officers and courts advocate for corporate privileges while nullifying local sustainability policies, and the right of the people to use their municipalities to protect the health, safety and welfare of human and natural communities, the right of the people to enact policies for sustainable agriculture, energy production, watershed protection, and environmental stewardship will remain marginalized, in fact "illegal and unconstitutional."   Just found this New York Times article talking about raw milk's potential to revitalize the falling dairy market. Big old shout-out to my home state. It's one of the very few areas in which we're actually progressive. Yeeah, Pennsylvania! We consume, on average, 2 gallons of raw milk per week here at the Co-op, about 3 pounds of raw cheese, and a pound of raw butter, all courtesy Spring Bank Acres, a local Amish dairy, headed by good old Raymond Fisher.   Co-opers one and all helped yesterday to build the biggest and best shelving unit that Houseasaurus has ever seen. The beast is constructed of oak and pine, and the many who helped toiled well into the night with nails and hammers. Organization was never so luxurious. Photos of the event can be found here.
